Winter program
For a good moult of the down feathers and constant health during the winter months, our winter program for all breeding and racing pigeons:
- Every 4 weeks, 3 days B.S. (Better Digestion): 1 sachet in 2 litres of water or 1 sachet per kg of feed.
- 1 time per week, BelgaBion, 1 sachet in 3 litres of water or 1 sachet over 1.5 kg of feed.
- Moisten 1 kg of feed once a week with 15 ml of Belgarlic + Vit. E then mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon Belga Super Fit
Young birds racing season
The Paramyxo vaccination is best done by your veterinarian when the youngsters are about 5 weeks old. This vaccination should be repeated 4-6 weeks after the first vaccination. Squabs that are weaned are given a B.S. cure of 7 days: 1 sachet in 2 litres of water or 1 sachet over 1 kg of feed. About 10 days before training flights, they receive a B.S. cure again, but then of 5 days.
During the first training flights, upon their arrival home, we advise giving the youngsters 4 in 1 Mix for 1.5 days to suppress any possible adeno-coli infection they may have incurred through the stress in the basket.
During the racing season:
- Tuesday: BelgaBion – 1 sachet in 3 litres of water or 1 sachet in 1.5 kg of feed.
- Wednesday: over the feed: 10 ml of Belgasol or Belga Biovit, then mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon of Belga Super Fit and 1 measuring spoon or 1 sachet of BelgaBac.
If a tough race is expected, the feed can be moistened with 15 ml Belgarlic + Vit. E or 15 ml of Essential Oil.
1 day before basketing:
Orni 3 or OrniSpecial: 1 sachet or 2 measuring spoons in 2 litres of water. Instead of Orni 3 or OrniSpecial, Belga Tai or Ornisol can also be given with great success.
Also over the feed: 15 ml of Belga Essential Oil or 15 ml of Belgarlic + Vit. E ; then, mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon Belga Carbo Energy.
Immediately upon returning home from a race:
Belgasol (25 ml per litre of water), for 1.5 day B.S . (Better Digestion): 1 sachet in 2 litres water or 1 kg of feed.
Old birds racing season (short and middle distance)
- Tuesday: BelgaBion – 1 sachet in 3 litres of water or 1 sachet in 1.5 kg of feed.
- Wednesday: over the feed: 15 ml of Belgasol; then, mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon of Belga Super Fit and 1 measuring spoon or 1 sachet of BelgaBac.
If a tough race is expected, the feed can be moistened with 15 ml Belgarlic + Vit. E or Essential Oil.
- 1 day before basketing: W.N. (White Noses), OrniSpecial or Belga Tai (alternating), 1 sachet in 2 litres of water. Also over the feed: 15 ml of Essential Oil or Belgarlic + Vit. E; then, mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon Belga Carbo Energy.
- Day of basketing: Administer 1-2 Vitaboli pills per pigeon.
Immediately upon returning home: 25 ml of Belgasol per litre of water. For 1-2 days B.S. (Better Digestion) – 1 sachet in 2 litres of water or 1 sachet over 1 kg of feed. B.S. can also be given in the water together with Belgasol. If B.S. is given over the feed, the feed can be moistened with 15 ml of Belgasol or 10 ml of Belga Biovit per 1 kg of feed
Reduced performance:
It is possible that performance will decrease after 5 races. This is usually caused by an infection in the upper respiratory tract. The pigeons return tired, have lost body weight, train badly and moult too little down feathers. If this happens, on Monday, Tuesday and possibly Wednesday, give your pigeons OrniSpecial or Belga Tai for 2-3 days: 2 measuring spoons or 1 sachet in 2 litres of water. Old birds racing season (long distance)
In the week of basketing:
3 consecutive days (Monday + Tuesday + Wednesday) an ornithosis cure in the drinking water: 2 measuring spoons or 1 sachet of Belga Tai in 2 litres of water or 2 measuring spoons or OrniSpecial 1 sachet in 2 litres of water. It is ideal to do this alternately during racing season. Combinations can also be made; see page 45 of our catalogue. On the day of basketing, 15 ml of Belgasol can be given in 1 litre of water, ideal against thirst and to build up energy.
Also, at the same time, over the feed:
Monday: Moisten 1 kg of feed with 15 ml of Essential Oil or Belgarlic + Vit. E then, mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon or 1 sachet of BelgaBac.
Tuesday: Moisten 1 kg of feed with 15 ml of Essential Oil or Belgarlic + Vit. E; then, mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon or 1 sachet of BelgaBac and 1 measuring spoon of Belga Carbo Energy.
Wednesday: Moisten 1 kg of feed with 15 ml of Belga Essential Oil or Belgarlic + Vit. E; then, mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon (10 g) of Belga Carbo Energy and 1 sachet of BelgaBion.
For tougher races on the day of basketing: Administer 1-2 Vitaboli pills per pigeon.
Immediately upon returning home from a race: 25 ml of Belgasol per litre of water. For 2 days B.S. (Better Digestion) – 1 sachet in 2 litres of water. B.S. can also be given together in the water with Belgasol.
Also over the feed for 1-2 days: 10 ml of Belga Biovit, then mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon of Belga Recharge or the pigeons that have been racing, administer 1 Belga Recharge capsule. After returning home from a tough race, 1-2 Vitaboli pills can also be given.
Old birds racing season (marathon races)
1 week before basketing:
3 consecutive days 2 measuring spoons or 1 sachet of Belga Tai (+ 5 ml Ornisol, if applicable) in 2 litres of water or 2 measuring spoons or 1 sachet OrniSpecial (+ 5 ml Ornisol, if applicable) in 2 litres of water. It is ideal to do this alternately during racing season. Combinations can also be made; see page 43 of our catalogue.
At the same time over the feed: 3 consecutive days 15 ml of Belgarlic + Vit. E with 1 measuring spoon Belga Super Fit.
3 days before basketing: Moisten 1 kg of feed with 15 ml of Essential Oil or Belgarlic + Vit. E; then, mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon or 1 sachet of BelgaBac.
2 days before basketing: Moisten 1 kg of feed with 15 ml of Essential Oil or Belgarlic + Vit. E; then, mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon or 1 sachet of BelgaBac and 1 measuring spoon of Belga Carbo Energy.
In the water: 1 sachet of BelgaBion in 3 litres of water.
Individual treatment: 1 BelgaMagix tablet per pigeon
1 day before basketing: Moisten 1 kg of feed with 15 ml of Essential Oil or Belgarlic + Vit. E, then mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon Belga Carbo Energy.
In the water: 15 ml of Belgasol in 1 litre of water (this is also possible on the day of basketing)
Individual treatment: 1-2 Vitaboli pills per pigeon.
Immediately upon returning home from a race: Belgasol (25 ml per litre of water), for 2 days B.S. (Better Digestion) – 1 sachet in 2 litres of water. B.S. can also be given together with Belgasol. Also add 10 ml of Belga Biovit over the feed for 1-2 days, then mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon of Belga Recharge or the pigeons that have been racing, administer 1 Belga Recharge capsule.
When returning home from a tough race: give 1-2 pills Vitaboli.
Moulting program
Our moulting program offers the best requirements for optimum health and an impeccable moult. Thanks to perfect moulting, the basis for optimum performance is laid for the next season.
Directly after the racing season or between the end of the moult and the start of breeding, we advise treating the pigeons for 10-14 days with ParaStop, 1 sachet or 2 measuring spoons in 2 litres of water or over 1 kg of feed. A week after the cure with ParaStop we recommend that the pigeons be treated individually with Para Control Boost to stabilise the intestinal flora and support their general resistance and immunity.
After the ParaStop cure: for 1 week Belga Biovit, 10 ml in 2 litres of water. Then 2 to 3 times per week 10 ml of Belga Biovit in 2 litres of water
BelgaBion once a week: 1 sachet in 3 litres of water or 1 sachet over 1.5 kg of feed.
Moisten 1 kg of feed once a week with 15 ml of Belgarlic + Vit. E; then mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon Belga Super Fit.
B.S. every 4 weeks for 3 days: 1 sachet in 2 litres of water or 1 sachet per kg of feed.
Tip:
After the end of the racing season we advise you to have the droppings of the pigeons checked for the presence of worms, coccidiosis and Paratyphoid. This examination should take place before the start of the moulting period.
Breeding program (preparation)
A few weeks before mating, it is advisable to have your pigeons’ droppings checked for the presence of worms, coccidiosis and paratyphus and treat them if necessary.
– For coccidiosis and/or trichomoniasis, we recommend treatment with B.S.
– For worms, we recommend treatment with BelgaWormac.
– For paratyphus, we recommend treatment with Parastop or Parasol.
The above preparations are safe and do not cause vomiting or feather damage.
(Preventive) Immediately after racing season or between the end of moult and the start of breeding, we advise that pigeons be treated with Parastop for 10-14 days: 1 sachet or 2 measuring spoons in 2 litres of water or over 1 kg of feed.
A week after the cure with Parastop, we recommend that the pigeons be treated individually with Para Control Boost to stabilise the intestinal flora and support their general resistance and immunity.
Approx. 3 weeks before mating give your pigeons B.S. against trichomoniasis (canker): For 3 consecutive days, 1 sachet in 2 litres of water or 1 sachet over 1 kg of feed.
Breeding program (during breeding)
From breeding onward, moisten the feed for 3-5 consecutive days with 15 ml of Belgarlic + Vit. E; then mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon Belga Super Fit.
After the eggs have been laid, give B.S for 6 days: 1 sachet in 2 litres of water or 1 sachet over 1 kg of feed. This prevents trichomoniasis (canker), infections of the crop mucus membrane, coccidiosis and hexamitiasis B.S. also promotes down moulting.
BelgaBion once a week: 1 sachet in 3 litres of water or 1 sachet over 1.5 kg of feed.
Moisten 1 kg of feed once a week with 15 ml of Belgarlic + Vit. E; then mix the feed with 1 measuring spoon Belga Super Fit.
When the squakers are 7 days old, give them 25 ml of Belgasol per litre of water for 5 consecutive days, for perfectly growing youngsters with perfect droppings.
